The short version

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or location. Your study progress stays on your device. We have no way to identify you.

What stays on your device

Your answers, scores, streak, readiness score, chosen state, and language preference are stored locally on your phone in the app's own storage. They are never uploaded to us. Deleting the app deletes all of it permanently — we cannot restore it for you.

What is sent to our servers

Two things, and only when you trigger them:

  • Question packs. The app downloads study content for the state you selected. This is a download only — nothing about you is sent with it beyond the state and content version you already have.
  • AI tutor requests. If you ask the tutor to explain a question you got wrong, the app sends that question's text, the correct answer, the answer you picked, the statute reference, and your chosen explanation language. It is sent without any account or device identifier, is used only to generate that one explanation, and is not stored or used to train models.

Purchases

Subscriptions are handled entirely by Google Play Billing. We never see or receive your card details. Our servers receive only an anonymous purchase token from Google so we can confirm your subscription is active.

What we do not do

  • No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
  • No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
  • No selling or sharing of data — there is nothing personal to sell.
  • No access to your camera, microphone, contacts, photos, or location.

Children

Learner's permit applicants are often 15 to 17 years old, so we designed the app to need no personal information at all. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, of any age.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to export or delete on request. To erase everything the app holds, uninstall it. If you want to reach us about this policy, email privacy@dmvpermittest.app.

Not a government service

This app is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any state Department of Motor Vehicles or any government agency. Study material is written from published traffic law and official driver handbooks.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
